I’m a longtime reader of Faith Hunter, following her Jane Yellowrock and
Rogue Mage series. She’s an awesome world builder and paints scenes that
I go back and read a second time.
I’m not sure how, but I got invited to be in
an anthology in her Rogue Mage universe. I did a Snoopy Dance! Getting to
play in Faith Hunter’s sandbox, what a great opportunity. I’m not an idiot,
and so I happily accepted said invitation.
My story appeared in the second volume, “Tribulations” (https://tinyurl.com/4xkdvjkh) The first volume was called “Trials.”
I love good urban fantasy. I wrote several urban fantasy novels in the Rogue Angel series for Gold Eagle,
and I penned a standalone urban fantasy set in New York, Pockets of Darkness, which got nominated for an International Thriller Writers Award. Faith’s anthology let me play in the genre again, blending themes and genres, and having a grand time. Hmmm … maybe I ought to write another urban fantasy.
I’ve been toying with the notion of Benjamin Franklin as a wizard. Have to write some more Piper Blackwell first.
Oh… Right. Piper …
A raging fire sweeps through the decorated landscape of Sled Run, destroying the home of Chief Deputy Oren Rosenberg and killing two.
An accident? Or did something toxic fuel the flames?
Sheriff Piper Blackwell and Detective Basil Meredith believe Oren was targeted and are tasked with finding motive and means before more than the holiday burns bright.
With many clues reduced to ashes, can Piper and Basil catch the culprits before they strike again? Or is this blaze just the start of the most murder-filled time of the year?
